1.方式状语从句的连接词通常有:as，in the way,the way和like(表示某人做某事的行为方式)。
例如：
I have revised the draft of the agreement as you demand.
【译文】按照你的要求，我已经修改了协议的草稿。
Cats never become submissive(in) the way (that) dogs and horses do.
【译文】猫从来都不会变得像狗和马那样地顺从。
I was never allowed to do things(in) the way (that) I wanted to do them.
【译文】我从来都不能按自己的意愿来做事。
We have to make it work (in) the way (that) we want it to.
【译文】我们必须让它按我们的意志运转。
Surely you don’t intend to live by yourself like she does.(用于非正式语境中）
【译文】你肯定不会打算像她一样独身生活。
2. as if和as though为好像之意，引导的也是一种方式状语从句。
(1)接虚拟语气的情形
例如：
She treats him as if/as though he were her own child.
【译文】她对待他就像对待自己孩子一样。
A woman watches her body uneasily，as though it were an unreliable ally in the battle for love.
【译文】女人不安地打量着自己的身体，仿佛那是她为爱情而战不可靠的同盟军。
(2)接陈述语气的情形
例如：
It looks as if/though we shall have to do the work ourselves.
【译文】看起来这工作得我们自己做了。
For a while it looked as though the making of semiconductors，(which America had invented and which sat at the heart of the new computer age)，was going to be the next casualty.
【译文】半导体技术是美国人创造的，是当今电脑时代的核心技术，但即使是这一技术 也曾经一度有可能成为下一个牺牲品。（此句并未采用虚拟语气）
