英文中的相似词组非常多,其中annoy / aggravate的难分程度非常高,连老外都会分不清楚。这两个字在英汉字典中的意思都是「使恼火」,但其实这两个单字在英文上的使用不太一样,而今天英文老师介绍了两者的差别。
annoy (v.) —— to irritate / pester / get on someone’s nerves.
aggravate (v.) —— to make something (problems / injuries / situations) worse
从英文解释中可以看出,「annoy」比较偏向「使某人生气」,而「aggravate」则是偏向「使(问题 / 伤口 / 情况)恶化」,但因为通常使某人生气时,就是会使情况恶化,所以很多人会把这两个字搞混,但其实这两字语意上仍然有差。
