「叠字」不仅会出现在中文裡，英文裡也时常看见这样的用法，目的是要「强调」某件事或是某个东西。engVid地Rebecca讲师整理了几组常见地叠字词，要来告诉大家该如何使用，以及意思为何啦！

1. Over and over

这样的用法就是表示「一再地…」之意，与Repeatedly同义。

e.g. I had explained it over and over.

例：我已经一再的重複解释了。

2. Round and round

这组用法可解释「在某处打转」或「鬼打牆」的意思。

e.g. You’re going round and round in the discussion.

例：你们的讨论已经陷入鬼打牆了。

3. On and on

这表示「不断重複的」、「…个不停」的意思。

e.g. He talked on and on.

例：他说个不停。

4. Again and again

这组用法与Over and over意思相同，即「一再的」之意。

e.g. He made mistakes again and again.

例：他一再的犯错。

5. Little by little

这组片语的意思就是「逐渐的」、「渐渐的」。

e.g. I improve my English little by little.

例：我慢慢的让英文变得更好。

6. All in all

这就是「总而言之」的意思。

e.g. All in all, I think we should buy this house.

例：总而言之，我觉得我们应该买下这栋房子。

7. Day after day

这就是指「日复一日」的意思。

e.g. Day after day, he worked to support this family.

例：他日复一日的工作，为的就是养活这个家。

8. Word for word

这组片语表示「一字不漏的」。

e.g. Can you tell me word for word what she said?

例：你可以一字不漏地跟我说一下她说了什麽吗？
